Pharrell Williams’ NMD Hu Trail Dropping in November

Adidas is no stranger to hyped up celebrity collaborations. For instance, Kanye West loves his partnership with Adidas almost as much as he loves his reflection in the mirror.  If it weren’t for Adidas, we’re not sure where Kanye would be with his Yeezy sneaker designs. But Kanye isn’t the only celeb who has the opportunity to work alongside the behemoth sportswear brand, Adidas. Singer and songwriter, Pharrell Williams has done some real magic with Adidas, and they call it NMD Human Race (or NMD Hu Trail).

The Backstory

It was back in 2014 when the talented Pharrell partnered up with Adidas. And he didn’t join the partnership empty handed, as he brought along his eco-friendly fabric company, Bionic Yarn. The textiles company takes plastic found polluting our oceans and turns it into strong, durable material to make sustainable fashion.

Since 2014, Pharrell has worked on various different shoes with Adidas from the Stan Smith collab to the Superstar and now the NMD.

Birth of the Pharrell Adidas NMD Hu Trail

With a history in working for the betterment of the environment, it’s no surprise that Pharrell would create sneaker designs with the concept of bringing together the human race. Human Race even became the name of the first NMD Pharrell collaborated with Adidas on.

Throughout 2016, Pharrell teased the Adidas NMD Hu Trail in various colorways that caught people’s interests. Five different colorways were initially released and were followed by a sixth, the burgundy colorway. They were released in summer 2016 and sold out pretty quick. Today you can find them on resale sites for hundreds, if not thousands, of dollars over retail. For example, the Pharrell Adidas NMD Hu Trail “Friends” and “Family” burgundy colorway, with Japanese characters, can currently be found on StockX for the lowest ask of $9,500 in size 10. Furthermore, you can find it for a whopping 10 grand on Flight Club for different sizes.

This summer he released the colorful Pharrell Adidas Tennis Hu available online for anyone. Besides the influence Pharrell has on the shoe’s popularity, the remarkable note is that the Pharrell adidas NMD Hu is made with Boost tech in its sole, which is another factor that makes it more limited than other sneakers.

Early in May 2017, the Yeezy Mafia announced on Twitter that four NMD Human Race colorways will be dropping on November 11th, 2017. There is no news yet about where this anticipated Fall/Winter line up will drop. This time the NMD Hu will come complete with a trail outsole and Boost material inside the sole. The colorways include Pale Nude, Sun Glow, Core Black, and Noble Ink. They will cost $250 at retail. And very recently, Yeezy Mafia also replied to a question regarding the stock levels saying they’re low. So maybe Copping these beauties isn’t as easy as we thought!

Apparently, Stadium Goods has the Core Black NMD Hu Trail with “Moon” and “Clouds” written on the primeknit upper, is available early for those who can’t wait until the 11th.
